Paul Edward Haggis is a Canadian screenwriter, film producer and director of film and television. He is best known as a screenwriter and producer for consecutive Satellite Award winners for Best Picture: Million Dollar Baby (2004) Academy Awards for Crash (2005), the latter of which he also directed. Haggis also co-wrote the war film Flags of Our Fathers (2006) and the James Bond films Casino Royale (2006) and Quantum of Solace (2008). He is the creator of the television series Due South (1994-1999) and co-creator of Walker, Texas Ranger (1993-2001), among others. Haggis is a two-time Academy Award winner, a two-time Emmy Award winner and a seven-time Gemini Award winner. He also assisted in the making of the music video “We Are the World 25 For Haiti”. Ultra-popular screenwriter, Paul Haggis entered the history of the Academy Awards thanks to the writing of a couple of brilliant films that, for two consecutive years, have obtained the statuette for Best Film: we are obviously talking about Million Dollar Baby and Crash – Contact Physical. A young Canadian with cinephile aspirations, Paul spent his childhood in British Columbia with his father Edward and his mother Mary Yvonne. A graduate of Ontarian London at Fanshawe College, the then 22-year-old Haggis leaves for L.A. looking for luck. His career began in 1975, when he made his debut on the small screen: he is the author of TV series such as My Friend Arnold and Love Boat, among the most loved and followed by the public. Becoming one of the creators of the hit series Walker Texas Ranger in 1993, Paul made his behind-the-camera debut in the musical film Red Hot. In 2004, Haggis gave birth to the formidable screenplay of Million Dollar Baby. Captured by the poignant story of boxer Maggie Fitzgerald (taken from a series of short stories entitled “The Challenger” by F.X. Toole), the filmmaker Clint Eastwood decides to direct it for the big screen: it is immediately Oscar rain. Critically acclaimed, Kenyan-born actor/producer, Edi Gathegi has starred in film, television and theatre. Roger Rueff


Roger Rueff is an award-winning writer and playwright whose works have been translated into seven languages and staged around the world. His comedy Hospitality Suite was premiered at the South Coast Repertory Theater in Costa Mesa (California) in 1992 and was subsequently brought to theaters in North America and Japan. In 2005 he started his Italian tour. From this comedy Rueff wrote the screenplay for the hugely popular film The Big Kahuna, starring Kevin Spacey and Danny DeVito, which premiered at the Toronto Film Festival in September 1999 and was one of three films nominated for a 2000 Humanitas Award as an independent film. .
